PAIN AND POETRY

She wept
and her tears
fell on the hand
of the gardener.
He gathered her tears
and watered a sapling.
The sapling
grew and flowered.
The flowers fell
and became a garden.
The garden blossomed
and filled the air
with the perfume
of her sighs.
She smiled
and butterflies
flew from her eyes.
